Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a safe and highly accurate prenatal screening blood test that screens for chromosomal conditions including Down syndrome (trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18) and Patau syndrome (trisomy 13). As it only requires a maternal blood sample, there is no risk of miscarriage.

NIPT can usually be performed from 10 weeks of pregnancy, with results typically available within 5–10 working days.
